Groundhog’s Day

There were way too many groundhogs on Groundhog Day that did not do their jobs.
They slept through this most sacred of American holidays,
Comfortably, they hid, quietly hibernating.
Almost, as if they don’t care that they’re ruining such an important day.

That kind of selfishness, will not fly.
But the ground hogs act like they don’t care about the human race.
Content, to just sleep underground.

There seems to be a certain lack of respect, for their own country.
Respect, which is needed to maintain the order
and sanctity of our great nation.

What would we do, if Christopher Columbus just stopped
Celebrating Columbus Day?

...Exactly!

Groundhogs need to get it together.

because we can’t be waiting on them to tell us the weather.
